Do you buy back Hearts On Fire diamonds?
Reselling is often easiest through the jeweler who sold you the diamond in the first place. You may choose another option; however, your best bet is to work with an established jeweler you can trust. A jeweler may offer to consign your diamond and sell it for you, give you in-store credit toward a trade-up or other merchandise, or, just offer you cash. Your choices will depend on your price flexibility as well as any time constraints you may have. We definitely do not recommend trying to sell directly to the public. Take advantage of a jeweler's reputation, security system and insurance policies when selling your Hearts On Fire diamond.

THE HEARTS ON FIRE DIFFERENCE
What are the differences between Hearts On Fire diamonds and others?
A Hearts On Fire diamond creates an incredible natural phenomenon of light, a performance simply unseen in other diamonds. With a perfect, and unrivalled, ring of eight hearts on the bottom and a perfectly formed, symmetrical Fireburst® of light on the top, a Hearts On Fire diamond will outsparkle any other diamond in the world.
There are four reasons to explain this phenomenon:

1. Rare and unique diamond quality - At Hearts On Fire, we use a minuscule fraction (.002%) of the world's most transparent and knot-free crystals, resulting in the maximum amount of light captured, scintillated, and reflected in a diamond. When you begin with the best Mother Nature has to offer, you are guaranteed the best results.

2. The highest manufacturing standards - With a precise selection of the rarest diamond crystals, our master craftsmen then cut and polish at 100x magnification, while the rest of the industry only operates at 10x magnification. To achieve this elite polish and finish, only 400 of the world's master diamond cutters are actually qualified to cut and craft a Hearts On Fire diamond.

3. A proprietary diamond-cutting formula that is the envy of others - The Hearts On Fire cutting method is a secret as big as the Coca Cola® recipe. With this knowledge, we are able to achieve maximum results in our perfect cut every single time ... resulting in perfect symmetry, perfect proportions, perfect polish, and perfect alignment that displays incomparable sparkle and brilliance that you can truly see.

4. A phenomenon of light - While all other diamonds in the world display partial, imperfect, or sometimes even no patterns of light, a Hearts On Fire diamond captures light in such a perfect way that it reveals eight perfectly symmetrical hearts and Fireburst® patterns every single time, hence our unique Company name. The difference is perfection ... it's a difference you can see!

These reasons are why Hearts On Fire is the fastest growing diamond brand in the world.

What does The World's Most Perfectly Cut Diamond® Mean?
Surprising to most people, cut is actually the most important "C," as this is what most affects the beauty and brilliance (what you see) of the diamond. Shockingly, if two diamonds have the same color, clarity, and carat weight, the cut will still affect its beauty and value by 50% or more.

Cut is the only aspect of a diamond that man can control. However, even after hundreds of years of diamond cutting, Hearts On Fire is the only diamond brand in the industry who has perfectly evolved the craft of diamond cutting with its proprietary crafting formula and technology - information unknown to any other individual.

All Hearts On Fire diamonds are hand-cut by master craftsmen using state-of-the-art techniques - with each facet polished and analyzed under 100x magnification - 10x traditional standards. Setting the standard for superlative physical symmetry, as light enters the diamond, it decends downward into the pavillion. A standard diamond with an inferior cut leaks light from the bottom and sides. Too deep or too shallow a cut, and the light that gives a diamond its brilliance is lost. However, because of its perfectly symmetrical cut and increased surface area, a Hearts On Fire diamond captures that light and reflects it from the top, creating maximum brilliance and fire. Especially when looking through the Proportion Scope®, you can visually confirm that all 58 facets have the perfect shape, size and contrast to create a diamond with maximum sparkle.

I have found cheaper diamonds. Why?
Gem diamonds are evaluated the same way all over the world as ethical guidelines of evaluation require that each individual diamond be graded as if it were cut as a round brilliant to state-of-the-art standards. Color, claritycut and carat weight are all rarity factors that affect the price of any diamond. However, cut affects the final value by as much as 50%.

When you purchase a Hearts On Fire diamond, you are buying The World's Most Perfectly Cut Diamond®. Why? Because we use a minuscule fraction (.002%) of the world's most transparent and knot-free crystals, resulting in the maximum amount of light captured, scintillated, and reflected in a diamond. Our master craftsmen then cut and polish at 100x magnification, while the rest of the industry only operates at 10x magnification. Finally, to achieve maximum results in our perfect cut every single time - resulting in perfect symmetry, perfect proportions, perfect polish, and perfect alignment that displays incomparable sparkle and brilliance - we use a proprietary diamond-cutting formula that is a secret to the entire industry.

This elite quality is why Hearts On Fire is the ONLY diamond brand in the entire world that can make this exclusive statement of perfection. Simply put, a Hearts On Fire diamond is more valuable than any other diamond. A Hearts On Fire diamond sparkles more than any other diamond.

CHOOSING YOUR DIAMOND
Can you explain the 4 C's of diamonds?
When choosing a diamond, there are four "C's" to consider: color, claritycut and carat weight.
Clarity, color, and carat weight are all determined by nature and contribute to the rarity and value of a diamond, but the CUT of a diamond is by far the most important of the 4 Cs as it is the only "C" that man controls, and ultimately, the only "C" that determines the overall beauty and value of a diamond. Read more about all of the 4 C's in our Diamond Guide.

What is the Hearts On Fire diamond clarity?
When it comes to clarity, all Hearts On Fire serialized diamonds are strictly limited to the IF (Internally Flawless) to the SI2 (slight inclusion) range - the most valuable and rare diamond range. As for Hearts On Fire diamond jewelry, our designs generally offer diamond clarity that falls in the VS1-SI2 range. Read more about all of the 4 C's in our Diamond Guide.

What is the Hearts On Fire diamond color?
When it comes to color, all Hearts On Fire diamonds are exclusively restricted to the top two color category ranges - the colorless (D,E,F) and near colorless (G, H, I, J) range. Read more about all of the 4 C's in our Diamond Guide.

What is the difference between a Sensational and Exceptional diamond?
Due to our high-quality cut, which makes color and clarity less of a determining factor, we have simplified the buying process for serialized diamonds in engagement rings by grouping into two simple, yet high-quality categories: Exceptional and Sensational.

"Exceptional" means your diamond is in the D, E, F Color range, with a VVS1 to VS2 Clarity. "Sensational" means your diamond is in the G, H, I color range with a VVS1 to SI1 Clarity.

How do I choose a carat weight?
As for carat weight, Hearts On Fire diamonds are cut for beauty, not for size. That's why a smaller carat weight Heart On Fire diamond may actually be more beautiful than a larger generic diamond due to its superior cut and polish. Read more about all of the 4 C's in our Diamond Guide.

What is a complete Hearts On Fire diamond engagement ring?
A "complete" diamond engagement ring includes either the Hearts On Fire or Dream® center serialized diamond that is pre-selected in the Sensational quality, set within one of our engagement ring setting designs.

Our Perfection Stylists will help you understand the price of a complete diamond engagement ring. If you would like to personally select a specific Hearts On Fire serialized diamond, this will be considered a special order in which the Perfection Stylist can provide pricing and delivery information.

Does the price for an engagement ring online include the center diamond?
Yes, the price of all of our diamond engagement rings includes the center diamond with our "starting at" price point based on J, SI1 quality center diamond or Sensational quality center diamond where indicated.

What is the difference between 18K Gold and Platinum?
Platinum is a rarer and stronger precious metal that generally does not wear as much as gold over time. Both gold and platinum will require occasional polishing to retain their dazzle, but white gold will require the Rhodium finish to be re-done over time.

In addition, our 18K white gold is allergy-free because we use a combination of palladium and gold.

What are tips for choosing the best diamond?
The key to buying diamonds is to buy what you like the best. The best condition for viewing diamonds is face up and with varying amounts of light. More light will give you more sparkle, but low indirect light will show you how well the diamond transforms even the tiniest amount of light. Cup a diamond, either loose or mounted, in your hands. You'll be amazed.

In addition, color, claritycut and carat weight are rarity factors that affect diamond value. White is more rare than tinted, clean is more rare than included, and big is more rare than small. Consider your budget when selecting gems with more rare grades. In the end, choose the diamond that pleases you the most.

What diamond shapes do you offer?
Due to our high-quality, exclusive cut, Hearts On Fire diamond-cutting experts specialize in only two exceptional diamond cuts -the Round and Dream® (square). In a traditional round brilliant cut (with 58 facets), the Hearts On Fire diamond is a brilliantly performing, ideal-cut diamond, that makes a timeless and elegant statement no matter how its worn.

Similar in brilliance and intensity, the Dream® diamond (with 70 facets) is the only fancy-shaped diamond that can meet the high-quality standards set by Heart On Fire - in a modern and elegant square frame. Due to its unique design, only a few dozen master diamond cutters in the entire world have the skills necessary to cut a Dream diamond. In fact, its unique performance and design (boasting one of the highest light returns of all fancy shaped diamonds) are so exceptional that the Dream diamond was granted a U.S. Patent. As radiant as it is unique, this diamond truly is a dream.

How does a Dream® diamond compare to a radiant, princess or emerald cut diamond?
The emerald cut diamond has been around since antiquity. Traditionally, emerald cuts are rectangular in shape and feature a classic "step cut" faceting. In 1945, Asscher Company modified the emerald cut into a square shape. While emerald cuts are noted for being colorful, they lack the full sparkle of a round diamond. In 1970, Basil Watermeyer created the Barion Cut to bring the classic brilliance associated with the round to the step cut. His innovation was to modify the pavilion (bottom) of the emerald cut to mimic that of the round brilliant. He published his designs, yet did not patent them. In 1977, Henry Grossbard patented a similar style in New York and called it the Radiant. The princess cut diamond is a generic cut developed in the early 1980's as the rectangle or square that would retain the most possible weight from a standard piece of rough diamond. It has a "chevron-style" pavilion. Princess cut diamonds tend to be less bright and colorful than emerald and radiant cuts. The Dream® diamond by Hearts On Fire® is the latest achievement in the evolution of the perfect square cut. Dream is perfectly proportioned and precisely cut for maximum beauty, brightness, fire and sparkle. Dream was awarded a US Patent for its unique design in November 2002.

CARING FOR YOUR DIAMOND
What's the best way to clean my Hearts On Fire diamond jewelry?
Keeping your diamond clean is easy. Here's what we suggest: Mix equal parts of a light detergent - like Mr. Clean - ammonia, and water. Dip your Hearts On Fire in the solution and brush gently with a clean, soft toothbrush. Rinse thoroughly with cool, clean water. Ta-da. Every now and then, we suggest you have your jewelry professionally cleaned at your local Hearts On Fire jeweler. While you're there, be sure to have the setting checked for any loose diamonds or other wear-and-tear.

Should I insure my Hearts On Fire diamond jewelry?
Insuring your diamond jewelry is a very wise idea. If your diamond jewelry is ever lost, stolen or damaged you have the peace of mind that you are protected. You will be provided (if you are not, you should request) a retail replacement valuation from the retailer you purchase your diamond jewelry from or from Hearts On Fire if you purchase on-line. This should be sent to the insurance company that provides your homeowner's insurance. They will add a rider to your existing policy and charge you annually an amount based on the retail replacement value. If you do not have homeowners insurance we suggest protecting your diamond by purchasing coverage through Jewelers Mutual Insurance (www.Jewelersmutual.com).

Who can service Hearts On Fire diamond jewelry?
If you purchased your ring at an authorized Hearts On Fire retailer, we suggest that you contact the store where you purchased the ring and they will be able to further work with you on any repairs. If you purchased directly through Hearts On Fire online, please call 1-877-PERFECT for additional information on sending in your diamond jewelry for repairs.

Does Hearts On Fire offer a warranty?
Hearts On Fire stands behind our product and will repair or replace at our discretion any piece with any manufacturer defects. Any normal wear and tear is excluded.

Do you send an appraisal with my purchase?
Yes, we call it a "Retail Replacement Valuation," which is included with every Hearts On Fire diamond jewelry purchase. This document will be sent with all other paperwork in the same package as your purchase. You can use this document for any insurance purposes.
